If I only touch the hem of his garment

Luke 8:42-48 tells the story of a woman who found herself nearby when Jesus came to town. By this time, Jesus was immensely famous and popular, mainly because of his healing power. People heard of his approach and came out to meet him, pushing and shoving and crowding around him in the road. But this particular woman did not feel comfortable in public. Why? It was because she had a physical problem of constant bleeding. For twelve years this problem plagued her. It defined her life. She might say it ruined her life. She might say this problem made her lonely, and darkened any hope for her future. But she heard that Jesus helped people whom no one else could help. She thought to herself, "If I just touch the hem of his garment, I will be healed." So she crept up behind Jesus, touched his garment, and immediately she felt the bleeding stop. She could scarcely believe it! "What? It stopped! I am healed!" She was going to quietly leave, but Jesus stopped the crowd and wanted to know who touched him. He said "Who touched me?...I know that power has gone out from me." The woman was so nervous and scared, but she spoke up and said she had done it, and that she had been healed. Jesus then sent her on her way with his blessing. He wanted her to speak of her healing. He wanted her to be healed, and also to know Him, the Healer.

Friend, do you need healing? Do you need help that no one has been able to give you until now? Please come to Jesus. Even if you come to him, trembling and afraid, that's alright. He wants to help you in the way that no one else can help you. He is the Healer and the Saviour.
